First and foremost, I hope you, your families, your members, and your local union families are healthy, safe, and secure.
Right now, the UA has put together a list of strong recommendations for the most immediate future:
Monitor and follow the CDC’s guidance and government guidelines at all times.
Local union offices should operate remotely as much as possible and when necessarily limiting the number of employees in the building and at all times upholding social distancing guidelines.
Apprentice/JATC schools should Suspend
March and April union meetings should be cancelled.
Allow simple, common sense questions by owners and contractors, like: have you been out of the country, have you been around or exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19, etc.
It is our intention to keep the lines of communication open as much as possible and email is certainly the quickest way to get information out to you. Please look for future correspondence related to the UA’s response to the coronavirus outbreak and how we can best prepare for the least amount of interruptions in our business while at the same time maintaining the safety and health of ourselves, families, members and countries.
